All of our 1st graders learned about the importance of honeybees last week! Mrs. Wrightsman taught them how to spread dandelion seeds so more would grow for the honeybees. After learning about how to make more grow, the students picked dandelions and then helped make dandelion JELLY! This week the 1st grade tried the jelly on crackers. What a treat!

For outdoor learning this week, our 1st graders became meteorologists! They observed what kind of clouds they saw in the sky and used the cloud identifier paper to draw a picture of the cloud. They also labeled it in a sentence and predicted what the weather was going to be like in the afternoon. Great job, 1st grade!

Tonight is the night! KHS invites the entire community to the 2nd Annual Black History Expo from 6-8 PM. While this marks the second year the event has been held in the evening for the public, this tradition of excellence is now in its ninth year.

What began in 2018 as a student-initiated "Black History Live Museum" during the school day has continued to evolve. Even when the world went remote in 2021, the program stayed strong with a virtual showcase. Last year, the event expanded into an evening Expo to better connect our students with our community. It is a wonderful opportunity to see the unique works & talents of our KHS Wildkats.

Join us for this FREE, family-friendly event at KHS:
✨Academic Showcases: Explore student research & historical insights.
